Tatlow, Rose Ethel Julia

Rose's maiden name was Rose Ethel Julia Lasser. She was the daughter of Elise Lasser, sister of Freda Clark, Marge Leffler, Bob Lasser, Anne Moore and Lil Neubert. Her father died in a logging accident.

Rose lived near Powell River when she was a baby. Her family moved to Squamish when she was very young. Rose later attended UBC where she obtained her degree in English. During this time she worked as a housekeeper/nanny for a Vancouver family for her room and board.

Rose was predeceased by her daughter Delores Anne Mason in 1969 and her husband Clarence Elmer (Hank) Tatlow in 1981.

Judd, Thomas Wilby

Born to Thomas (of England) and Nancy Almira (nee Read of Ontario) Judd. Thomas Wilby came to Squamish with his parents and sister Rilla in 1892. He lived with his brother Henry (Harry).

In 1894, Thomas was the best man for his sister Marilla's marriage to Jim Edwards. He himself remained a bachelor.

In 1913, Thomas partnered with Kenneth Dondale in the Howe Sound Realty Co. Squamish was then known as Newport and was experiencing a landboom. He lived in a cabin he had built on Shadow Lake (in the general area of Alpine Lodge). He was forced to move when BC Hudro flooded for the construction of Daisy Laje Dam. He moved to Cheakamus where he had a fntastic rock garden.

Judd, Barbara Anne

Barbara Annie was born on April 3, 1873 to William and Mary (nee Tompkins) Edwards in Gore Bay, Ontario. His brother was Jack Edwards.

In 1888, she came to Vancouver with her parents by rail at age 15. They got off at Fort Langley. She came to Squamish in 1894 with Mr and Mrs Charles Rose who were working at the Squamish Valley Hop Company Ranch.

She married Henry Judd on December 26, 1894. They met at a party at Mr Mashiter's house.

Richardson, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Richardson was born in Squamish in her grandmother Lasser's house on Wilson Crescent. She took all of her grade school in Squamish, moving on to receive a BA in Education at University of British Columbia and another BA in Criminology at Simon Fraser University.

She taught Adult Education in North Vancouver and New Westminster as well as English at the University of Cartagena, in Cartagena, Colombia. Later, she worked for the Saanich Police Department and for the Greater Vancouver Regional District in the Executive Office for 17 years until retirement. Elizabeth Richardson has travelled and lived in approximately fifty countries throughout her life.

Her first marriage produced her son, Terry Alan Kershaw. Her second marriage was to Alan Dwight Richardson. The couple retired early and travelled for ten years. Elizabeth now resides in Aldergrove, B.C.

Rae, Lawrence Johnson

Lawrence Johnson was born in Squamish to Kate and Allen Rae. He married Violet Jane Smith on September 19, 1921. Violet died on July 28, 1924. Lawrence died in Quesnel at age 61.
